The Fight For Courts
Alphington Netball Club has had a positive relationship with Alphington Primary school for over 10 years. We have had ongoing access to the single outdoor court for our primary school age teams.
It has been necessary for our secondary school age teams to train in a number of destinations to accommodate lack of daylight hours.
In 2023 we hope a single destination of Fairlea Reserve in Yarra bend for our teenagers. This is an exciting leap forward as a training venue for ANC. Access to 7 courts to be used in conjunction with Alphington Primary School. A step in the right direction!
TO the FUTURE
Having worked alongside Netball Victoria and the Inner City Netball Program, we believe ANC has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting girls in sport and look forward to the day we have a club room to call “home".
There is potential for enough courts to train all our teams on the horizon.
ANC actively supported the City of Darebin's construction of Narrundjeri Stadium at John Cain Memorial Park but space in this facility is limited.
ANC still needs to work hard.
ANC needs to be a consistent voice of support for girls in sport.
ANC needs a safe, inclusive, community focused facility that our growing membership can be proud to call home.
